Whenever I say anything about "wall colors",
Evan always says, "We don't have colors, we have different tones".
And technically he is correct. I do not have many saturated "colors" in our house.
I have very light tones or tints of various neutrals.
I thought I should post a list of exactly what I have....
Sun Porch (AKA Pooch Porch)
Moth Gray, by PPG paints
Back Door
Custom Mix (by me)... Combination of Brick 6 and Hawthorn from Lowes
Kitchen
Fog X3, by PPG paints
Dining Room
Owl Gray, by BM
Half Bath
Gray Palomino, PPG paints
Gray Palomino, PPG paints
Master Bedroom
Stonington Gray, BM
Bunk Bed Room
Moth Gray, by PPG paint
Guest Bedroom
Smoked Oyster, Behr
Living room and Halls
This color was actually here when we moved in.
I really like it. It is a grayed lavender.
I have collected paint swatches from all over the place trying to place the color.
I can't figure it out?! (Which is partly probably because it has faded over time).
But have no fear!
I have a sample of it from leftover bathroom trim that I can take to have it matched if I ever needed.

Did you build your built-in bunks? Do tell!
ReplyDeleteHi!!
ReplyDeleteI think the bunk beds were built with the house in 1938. We are only the third owners of the house which is pretty cool and I hope we can live in the house for 30+ years like all the owners before us :-)
I left the bunks red because there is SO much red paint on them.... I am wondering if they have always been that color? You can see scapes and cuts in the woods from the boys using them (each owner had two boys that shared that room).
I have been visiting various blogs for house paint. I have found your blog to be quite useful. Keep updating your blog with valuable information... Regards
ReplyDeleteI love the gentle selection of neutral colors painted allover your house. They’re soft to the eyes and they provide a relaxing ambiance. :)

I like the tone you used in your dining room. We also used an old gray color in our masters bedroom before. Your bunk bed room looks great too! The shade was very calming, which is just perfect for a bedroom. Plus it matched well with the red wooden bunk bed. My girls would love to sleep in this lovely room.

The paint in your house are all very light, which brightens every corner of your house. Do you have any plans of changing those colors? If you want to change the paint in your house, try going with the pastel ones. These are beautiful colors that can add an exhilarating effect to the atmosphere of your home. ->-Reed Suder
ReplyDeleteOverall, the color is very impressive. Having a light color tone for the house is the right thing to do. Not only does it feel uplifting, but it also is soothing and relaxing.
